KIOSH 2016: OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH as factor of economic development

On 27 - 28 April the Astana Exhibition Centre "Korme" for the 6th consecutive year will host a Forum on Occupational Safety and Health KIOSH 2016, which includes the Exhibition and Conference.

The increasing number of hazardous facilities and production raises the problem of security in the rank of the top priorities for any enterprise. At present time all developed countries have adopted a special licensing procedure of construction, design, reconstruction, operation and liquidation of dangerous facilities that allows the state to assume a control in this area and directly influence safety provision.

KIOSH 2016 consolidates all areas of human activity, but a specific focus this year will be given to industries with a high level of occupational risk – the oil and gas industry, coal and mining industry, construction and agro-industrial complex.

The KIOSH Conference - 2016 , as the central platform of effective dialogue between state and business structures, with participation of international organizations and institutions will raise a discussion of topical issues and prospects of development of new ways to prevent injuries and occupational diseases to reach a common understanding of approaches and principles of risk management in the field of safety.

The conference will cover the following topics:

• "The impact of the economy on ensuring safe working conditions in manufacturing: challenges and prospects"
• "Current issues of internal control at enterprises for compliance with legislation on occupational safety and health protection"
• "Problem issues of providing workers with means of individual protection"
• "The occupational risk management and standardization as an integral part of prevention of accidents at production site"

There will also be 2 round tables:

• Industrial safety at hazardous production facilities in Kazakhstan: problems and prospects
• Actual problems of development of light industry of Kazakhstan for means of personal and collective protection: trends and prospects

The representatives of the largest industrial companies, such as: the Eurasian group ERG, LLC "Tengizchevroil", "NCPOC", MF LLC "Firma "Technoavia" a. o. will share their experience of health protection at manufacturing facilities in the framework of the conference.

In the framework of the project will also be announced the results of the National industry competition "Korgan" for the title of the best in the industry and the results of "SENIM" Competition on occupational safety and health among the employers of the Republic.

In 2015 over 40 companies attended the exhibition, 55% of them are planning to participate in the 2016 exhibition. Among the visitors were specialists of mining and metallurgy, energy, construction and oil sectors. 24% of visitors have found new suppliers and signed contracts for delivery.
